HOURS: Our regular business hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10-4. However, we host events and classes on weekends and in the evenings.

LOCATION: 309 Gold Ave. SW (in the heart of downtown Albuquerque, next to the iconic “Occidental Life” building). Paid parking is available on Gold and nearby streets, and at paid lots at 4th and Gold, 2nd and Gold and nearby. Please DO NOT park in the bank-affiliated lot across the street, as they tow!

OUR MISSION is to create an equitable and inclusive community art space, nurture artistic talent and cultivate a supportive and thriving creative environment for all. We strive to be a good neighbor and anchor in downtown Albuquerque. We provide a wide array of arts classes, with options for every age, interest and level of experience. We provide low-cost/high-value studios for artists and makers to operate their independent businesses in collaboration with The Groove. These artists exhibit their work in the gallery, teach classes, mind the store and share in the collective operation of the space. We also serve as an “accidental gallery,” providing exhibit space to diverse artists, including emerging artists who have not previously had the opportunity for gallery representation. We provide event and meeting space to the community. We also work with schools and non-profit organizations to co-create beautiful community artwork.

The Groove Artspace is a small artist/woman-owned business led by Erika Harding (Owner and Director) and Alison Robbenhaar (Co-Director). Erika is a glass and mosaic artist who specializes in community education and engagement (please see her other business, Amplify Consulting). She is also an established mosaic artist and teacher. She runs Erika Harding Mosaics. Alison is a painter and chef with a background in arts education.

CLASS REFUND POLICY: We do everything we can to not cancel classes. If ever we need to cancel a class, students will receive a full refund. For regular classes (valued at $500 or below), if you cancel your spot in a class 7 or more days in advance, we will refund you all but 10% or you can choose full credit for the price paid to apply toward a different class. If you cancel within a week but more than 3 days in advance, you will get 50% of the price of the class or you can choose full credit for the price paid to apply toward a different class. If you cancel within 3 days of the class, you will not receive a refund nor a class credit. For high-value classes (valued over $500), any cancellation received 30 days in advance of the class (or more) will be refunded with a 10% cancellation fee. Cancellations made 8-29 days in advance will be refunded only if the class space can be filled and cancellations made within 7 days of a class will receive no refund.
