Persona Grata: Selected Portraits by Lise Watkins

Lise Watkins' debut solo show "Persona Grata" is opening at The Groove Artspace front gallery on August 8th 2025. Drawing on her background as a graphic designer and photographer, Watkins blends elements of traditional portraiture with graphic sensibility to create a unique style of contemporary portrait painting that feels surreal while being rooted in the identity of her subjects. Watkins' approach to portraiture is playful and often explores the relationship between light and likeness. Opening reception: August 8th 2025 6pm.
