Fused Glass Mosaics with Lavae
• Title of Class: Fused Glass Mosaics
• Brief Description: Mosaics that look like stained glass without the caming and soldering. We'll compose pieces of colored glass onto a glass backer sheet and then “grout” them with powdered glass to define and give depth. You might choose to paint an icon or pattern onto the glass with high temperature paint. It all gets fused in the kiln to created a solid piece of art that's suitable for a plate or light catcher in your window.
• All tools, materials, and heat (One kiln-firing included) provided.

Recycled Mosaics: Session 2
Create a mosaic using recycled materials.
This 8-hour class (over two days) will introduce you to a unique method of making mosaics with used aluminum coffee pods.
We will design and create a mosaic on either a discarded fan blade or an old vinyl record with or without a mirror. All materials and tools will be provided but bring your favorite scissors if you have them.
On the first day, we will learn about the technique, create a design, and start preparing the tesserae. On the second day, we will glue the tesserae to the chosen substrate and complete the project with sealant. If you are not finished, I will provide you with the materials to complete the project at home. All materials are non-toxic and the cutting does not require a lot of strength.

Glass on Glass Mosaic w/ Erika Session #2
The Glass-on-Glass Mosaic (using stained glass on flat glass OR gorgeous glass blocks, for indoors or outdoors) class is appropriate for everyone, including beginners, who wants to experiment with glass and learn how to make something beautiful. The classes will be small enough for both group and individual instruction.
Day 1 is a five-hour block, when we introduce techniques and talk about design, and then give everyone time to work on and (hopefully) complete their project. You can continue your project at home if you wish. Day 2 is a three-ish hour block when we will clean our pieces, grout and and then do final cleaning. You will then be ready to tackle much bigger projects, like glass-on-glass mosaic tables, for example. All tools and materials included.
